SURVEYING SCHOLARSHIP
Southern Cross Consulting Surveyors (SCCS) is a surveying firm based in Goulburn
providing a range of surveying and associated services to Goulburn and the
Southern Tablelands. SCCS has been established for a period in excess of 80 years
and promotes itself as a dynamic and proactive organisation.
SCCS has decided to award a surveying scholarship in 2009 to assist a local student
through their first four years of university study in New South Wales.
Each scholarship is worth $5000 annually. Continuation depends on satisfactory
progress as determined by the directors of SCCS at the completion of each
semester.
Applications for the scholarship open on 19 August 2008 and close on 31 October
2008. The scholarship is to commence at the beginning of the 2009 academic year.
ELIGIBILITY
An applicant for the scholarship must:
• be a permanent resident of the local government areas of either Goulburn
Mulwaree or Upper Lachlan.
• be under the age of 25 when applying unless exceptional circumstances
apply.
• show that they are planning to enter a full-time degree course in surveying at
either the University of New South Wales or University of Newcastle in 2009.
Note that theses are the only two universities in New South Wales which offer
surveying degrees.
• Submit curriculum vittae and references in support of their application and be
prepared to attend an assessment interview with the directors of SCCS.
• be committed to working with SCCS during university vacations.
SELECTION
Selection will be based on eligibility, educational merit, assessment by the directors
of SCCS and confirmation of University entrance to surveying degree course. The
scholarship is to be administered by SCCS.
